Drummer Robert Jospe's band Inner Rhythm has a samba/latin/funky sound that goes well with it's straight-ahead jazz credentials. The quintet has two previous releases that have both charted on the jazzweek'S website, had extensive airplay, and were praised in the pages of down beat and modern drummer. This CD is their first release on Random Chance and includes original compositions by Jospe and works by Sergio Mendez, the Beatles and others. It's a very accessible album to many kinds of listeners, as well as dedicated jazz fans.
