Former "Diva" saxophonist Cynthia Mullis presents imaginative arrangements of standards by Monk, Strayhorn and Dexter Gordon, as well as several originals on this, her debut recording for OA2. Inspired by her experience in New York City and recorded in Seattle, the music is introspective yet straight-ahead and swinging. Featuring prominent Seattle musicians and the vocals of Becca Duran, the chemistry of the group is organic, creative and exciting and the musicianship is top-notch.
